Daniel Moylan, who has been a key member of the team of the London Mayor Boris Johnson, was our guest. Until the recent election he was Deputy-Chair of Transport for London which means he was effective head, as the London Mayor is nominally Chair. He has now been appointed by Boris to run the London Olympic Legacy Development Corporation. Daniel spoke on his experience of running an integrated transport body in a global city – and on the challenges he sees in his next job around the Olympic Legacy.
His chief of staff, Chris Bonner also attended and presented regarding the transport situation for the Olympics. The Committee would like to thank our board member Peter Wyton, and AECOM for hosting this event and Lucy Turnbull for enabling Daniel to speak to us.
Tim Williams. CEO to the Committee introduced the event and Peter Wyton, Regional Director for AECOM, introduced Messrs Moylan and Bonner.
Mr. Moylan talked of how Transport for London approached its task of integrating (privatized) buses, cars, underground(highly unionised, as he noted), cycling and some key rail capacity.
