We are an independant voice for the whole of Sydney
The Committee for Sydney is an independent voice for the whole of Sydney, developing innovative policy beyond the electoral cycle. Helping Australia's only global city to play its key role for the state and nation, it plays an advocacy role in promoting greater Sydney’s interests and future prosperity. We engage in policy discussions that affect the global competitiveness of Sydney as a business centre and as a place to live.
We use our members expertise
We use the expertise and knowledge of Sydney’s most senior leaders to shape our thinking and actions to make a real difference for Sydney, shaping public policy and sharing best practice to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future for Greater Sydney.
Our membership includes some of the most significant organisations in Sydney in all sectors: private, public, and not for profit, major companies, strategically significant local councils and key cultural, sporting and marketing bodies. We are in ourselves a model of that public-private-community coalition we think is required to transform Sydney.
We promote action on the issues that really matter for Sydney
Our aim is the enhancement of the economic, social, cultural and environmental conditions that make Sydney a competitive and creative global city.
We tackle issues from a ‘whole of Sydney’ perspective. We aim to stimulate discussion, influence decision makers, share best practice and promote action on the issues that really matter for Sydney. We aim to be visionary – always looking to identify the next set of issues to be tackled to ensure that Sydney retains its global status. We are working to provide practical solutions for reform.
