International Women’s Day Breakfast 2020
This year’s International Women’s Day Breakfast explored pathways to making Sydney a safer place for women. We heard an inspiring story from Plan International Youth Activist Leader, Alice Rummery who is paving the way for the next generation of women to feel safe and included in public spaces. Greater Sydney Commissioner Chief Commissioner, Lucy Turnbull AO unveiled the organisation’s Women’s Safety Charter, inviting businesses to sign on and be part of a movement that will shift policy and cultural attitudes towards safety in the city. With public transport a key component to how we tackle this issue, we also heard from Transport for NSW’s Elizabeth Mildwater on how the State Government will play a role in the Charter.
We’d like to thank NAB and Scentre Group for sponsoring the event, and The Daily Telegraph as our media partner.
We’d also like to thank The Ivy for hosting us.
